About these terms
This website is operated by The Steele Family Foundation (“the Foundation”, “SFF”, “we”, “us” or “our”). These Terms of Use apply to thesteelefamilyfoundation.com. By using the website, you agree to these terms to the extent they form a binding agreement under applicable law. If you do not agree, please stop using the website and contact us through email if you need assistance.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. It is not a request for blanket consent to every possible use of information.
Separate terms and notices may apply to donations, events, partner services and participation in the WISE Scholarship Program™. The WISE participant portal and mobile app have their own terms. Nothing on this public website replaces those terms or a written agreement with the Foundation.
Using the website responsibly
Use the website lawfully and with respect for others. You must not:
- Use our forms to send spam, threats, unlawful content or information that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Impersonate another person or organization, misrepresent your relationship with the Foundation or submit misleading information.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access, bypass security or access controls, introduce malicious code, or disrupt the website or its services.
- Collect personal information about people featured on the website for harassment, unsolicited marketing or other unlawful purposes.
- Use automated requests in a way that harms performance or defeats technical restrictions. Ordinary indexing and lawful linking must not misrepresent our content.
We may restrict activity that creates a security risk or breaches these terms. Please report a suspected website security issue privately to info@thesteelefamilyfoundation.com, with enough detail to help us investigate and without exposing another person’s information.
Website information and project updates
The website provides general information about the Foundation, its work and the organizations it supports. We aim to keep information accurate, but content may contain an error or become outdated. A news article, newsletter, award or project update reflects its stated date and context. Historical funding, project targets and past recognitions are not promises about future results.
Website content does not guarantee a grant, scholarship, admission, funding amount, service or other benefit. Eligibility, availability and decisions depend on the applicable program and any written agreement. The Foundation currently does not accept unsolicited grant applications.
Nothing on this website is individual legal, tax, financial, medical or professional advice. Obtain advice suited to your circumstances when making a decision that requires it. If you find an error or need a current detail confirmed, please contact us.
Our content, names and images
Website text, designs, logos, photographs, videos and other materials belong to the Foundation or their respective owners and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The WISE Scholarship Program™ name and branding, partner marks and third-party materials remain subject to their owners’ rights.
You may view the website and keep reasonable copies for personal, non-commercial reference, with copyright notices and attribution intact. You may share links to public pages in a way that accurately identifies the source and does not suggest an endorsement or partnership.
For republication, commercial use, logo use, modification or reuse of photographs and video, obtain the relevant owner’s authorization unless applicable law allows the use. Images featuring children, participants, donors or partner representatives must not be reused in a way that misrepresents them or their relationship with the Foundation. These terms do not restrict rights provided by copyright law, including applicable fair-dealing exceptions.
Messages and materials you send
Provide accurate contact details and only information you are entitled to share. Do not send confidential student records, passwords, full payment-card details or sensitive documents through the public contact form. Contact us first if a matter requires a more appropriate way to exchange information.
You retain ownership of material you send. Sending a message allows us to use it as reasonably needed to respond and handle your enquiry. It does not automatically authorize us to publish your story, photograph or name for promotional purposes.
A message acknowledgement confirms that the website accepted the submission. It is not acceptance of a proposal, a funding commitment or a promise of a particular response time. This website is not monitored as an emergency service.
Online donations
Online donation features use Donorbox and the payment services presented at checkout. Before confirming a gift, review the recipient, amount, currency, payment frequency and any optional contributions or charges shown. If you choose a recurring donation, review the schedule and the cancellation or management options provided in that donation flow.
Donation processing is subject to the applicable provider’s terms and the information shown when you donate. A tax receipt or deduction is not guaranteed by this website. Eligibility depends on the donation, recipient and applicable law.
For a duplicate or mistaken donation, a receipt question, or help with a recurring gift, contact info@thesteelefamilyfoundation.com promptly. Include the transaction reference and date, but not your full payment-card details. We will review the matter with you and the relevant provider. These terms do not create a blanket refund entitlement or remove a right you have under applicable law.
External links and embedded services
The website links to partner organizations, social platforms and other external resources, and includes services such as video players and donation forms. Those services are operated by their respective providers and may have separate terms and privacy notices.
We do not control third-party availability, content or practices. A link, logo or reference does not by itself establish a current partnership or endorse every activity of another organization. Any described relationship should be read in the context and time period in which it is presented.
Availability and responsibility
We take reasonable care in providing this website, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free content or that every external service will always be available. Features may be changed, maintained or withdrawn. Where possible, we will provide a practical alternative for contacting the Foundation.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses resulting from your use of, or inability to use, this public website, or from relying on information that is identified as historical. This limitation does not excuse a duty or liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, limits a non-excludable consumer or privacy right, or prevents you from seeking a remedy that applicable law provides.
Changes and interpretation
We may revise these terms as the website or applicable requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. Changes apply prospectively and do not remove rights that already arose. Any additional notice or agreement required by law will be provided.
If a provision is not enforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms do not displace laws or rights that apply regardless of contractual wording.
Questions and accessibility
For questions about these terms, a content concern or difficulty accessing information on the website, email info@thesteelefamilyfoundation.com or visit Get in Touch. Tell us which page or feature is involved and how we can help.
